Khurda girl Ananya Basak of bagged a treble, winning the three titles in the sub-junior, junior and senior categories of the 22nd YGTTA All-Odisha Open Table Tennis Tournament, which concluded here at Sachin Tendulkar Indoor Hall, Barabati Stadium, today.
In the process, Ananya, daughter former National table tennis champions Arup and Kanchan Basak, emerged as the new table tennis star of Odisha, pushing Samartha Prusty, the long-standing numero-uno to the second spot.
Lalatendu Patra, M Ishwar, Krishan Prusty, Bikash Singh, Asif Haqu and S Mahaprassatha were other title winners of the three-day tournament, which was organised by Young Generation Table Tennis Association (YGTTA), under the aegis of Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA).
Local MLA Debashish Samantray handed over the prizes at the closing function. OSSTA secretary Rabindra Kumar Parida and YGTTA secretary Ranjan Mishra were present on the occasion.
